Make Food Not War is a new initiative that promotes peace with justice through education, communication, and political engagement. Grounded in the universal principles of human rights, Make Food Not War highlights the importance of sustainable food systems, food access, and a shared culture of food in conflict prevention and resolution. It was launched at Slow Food's Terra Madre conference in Turin, Italy in October 26-30, 2006, in partnership with Souk el Tayeb, Lebanon's first farmers market.
